The 5S™'s Multi-Climate Use
An indispensable survival tool in emergencies when displaying the high visibility panel uppermost, the 5S™ is equally useful for nonemergency, daily use. With the high visibility panel reversed, the 5S™ can be used to provide overhead SHELTER from sun, snow and rain. Folded and zipped, the shelter creates a SLEEPING SYSTEM for use when temperatures drop at night, and is reversible for high visibility.
Emergency Use of the 5S™
The 5S™ now comes with a battery powered system that illuminates the letters S O S in bad light or for general night time use. The S O S is on the upper inside of the system, so when an individual needs emergency assistance the casualty gets into the bag (protecting them from the cold, wet, wind) pulls the built in hood over their head and awaits rescue. The S O S can either flash S O S (in morse code) or stays permanently on until rescued.
The 5S™ has been used to cover the top of car roofs in snow covered terrain when the vehicle has become stuck in the snow and the 5S™ also comes with a cigarette powered cable to enhance the power supply to the 5S™.
With the new illumination system - the speed of being found and rescued iis greatly increased, as even at night this system can be seen from over 1kilometre away (even further if searcher / rescue team is using binoculars or night vision goggles).
Additional Improvised Survival Use of the 5S™
In a survival situation, the 5S™ can be used as a ‘water catchment’ by opening the SLEEPING SYSTEM into SURVIVAL SHELTER mode, and securing the corners of the 5S™ to strong points (rocks, branches, cord) in order to collect rain water to purify and drink.
